By: José María Arguedas
‘The Pongo’s Dream’, in a puppet adaptation of a story by the Peruvian writer José María Arguedas tells the story of a humble peasant and a devilish landowner. The lines that begin this short story, finds the Pongo frail, unsophisticated and silent; nevertheless his journey from silence culminates with a luminous and prophetic voice.
Colourful and translucent flat puppets faithfully illustrate the recorded text of the story: patron saints, angels, humble peasants, and a devilish landowner.
The show can be shared by audiences of all ages, who are transported into a lost and forgotten dream.
